Hi All! I’m Kasey, the owner of Prairie Home Paintin
I’ve been around the home industry most of my life. My dad was a home builder, so growing up I spent a lot of time around job sites and giving my ever so helpful two cents. Later life brought me work as a realtor, which gave me even more perspective on homes and design. That experience taught me what buyers notice, what makes a space feel polished, and the details that help a home stand out.
I got my start in painting seven years ago while I was studying at the U of Iowa. What started as a college job quickly turned into a passion I genuinely loved. I was lucky enough to learn under my longtime boss and friend at a woman-founded painting company here in Eastern Iowa, where I was able to learn the trade hands-on and develop the skills and standards that I carry into my own work today.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects — from new construction homes, residential refreshes, cabinets, commercial spaces, and even some truly awful wallpaper removal.
Every project has helped me build experience and a strong eye for detail, which is something I take a lot of pride in.
Fast forward, I’m proud to now run my own woman-owned painting business, while continuing to work alongside my long time mentor Beyond Painting.
Painting is one of those trades where experience and meticulousness really show in the final result, and I’ve spent years learning how to do things the right way — from proper prep work to clean lines and smooth finishes.
If I had to describe myself, I’d say I’m a bit of a Type A perfectionist (and a Leo, so I definitely take pride in doing things well). I pay attention to the small details that make a finished space really stand out. My goal is always to leave every home looking fresh, polished, and eye-catching.
